Example #5 Instructions

(I am including all instructions for each example, but if you're doing these in order, you

can skip down to the step numbers shown in pink for the new additions to each example)

First you need to start a new Scrippy work area, or what

I call the Master Scrippy.   Click on File > New.

STEP 1 - First you need to start a new Scrippy work area, or what I call the Master Scrippy.  Click on File > New.

STEP 2 - The next thing I usually do is add a background to my Master Scrippy, in this case I'm using this light pinkish texture.  Just click on Insert > Background and select your graphic. For now I'm using the default settings.

Now I want to add the Positioned Container to my Master Scrippy and I want this container to be 400 pixels wide by 400 pixels high.  Let's say that I also want the container to be centered horizontally and  50 pixels from the top.

Click on Insert > Container > Positioned Container

You will be given the container settings box as shown below.  Here are the settings I used when I created this container.

You will notice that if you click the preview button at this point you won't see the container because it's basically an empty,  miniature Scrippy waiting for you to put something inside it.

IMPORTANT - Click on the Positioned Container button that you just created over on the left hand control panel before adding anything to the container.  You must do this so that all the objects you add next will be placed inside that container and the buttons for those objects will be indented as shown in the graphic at the bottom of this page.  If you forget to do this and add an object that should be inside the container, but it's somewhere else, just drag that button under the container to place it there.

STEP 3 - Next I added a double frame around my container.  Click on Insert > Frame  and choose the color, type and width you want.  Click the preview button now and you will see your blank container.  Be sure to click back on the Positioned Container Button on the control panel to continue inserting objects into the container.

STEP 4 - Next I added the background flower graphic by clicking on Insert > Background.  Here are the settings I used.

STEP 5 - Now I want to insert a positioned image of the pink flower into the center of the flower container.   Be sure you still have the Positioned Container button selected and then click on Insert > Positioned Object > Positioned Image.   Here are the settings I used.

STEP 6 - Next I want to add some little pink flowers scrolling "behind" the pink flower I just added.   With the Positioned Container button selected, click on Insert > Background.  Here are the settings I used.  If I had wanted the flowers to scroll in front of the flower I would have put a checkmark in the green circled area below.

STEP 7 - Now I want to add the two side containers and make them 95 pixels wide by 400 pixels high and I want both of them to be 50 pixels from the top.    First I'll add the one on the left by clicking Insert > Containers > Positioned Container and use the settings below.  Note that if I want something to be to the "left of center", I use a minus sign with the distance number.  If I want it to be to the "right of center", I just enter the number.  It took me a few times of entering the distance number until I got the container positioned just where I wanted it.

STEP 8 - With the new container button selected on the control panel, I now want to add the flowered background.  Click on Insert > Background.  Here are the settings I used.

STEP 9 - Now I want to add a Positioned Scroll for the scrolling single flower image.  Here are the settings I used.   One of the great new features in Scrippy is that you can now add space between your scrolling graphics!!  As you can see in the Advanced Options below, I enter 60 in the space between box.

STEP 10 - Next, with the new container button selected I'll add a frame around the container by clicking on Insert > Frame.  You want to add this last so it will be on top of the background and scrolling graphic.

STEP 11 - Now I want to add the right side container and make it exactly like the one I inserted in STEP 7 above, with the only change being the horizontal position.  Without the minus sign, Scrippy puts the container to the "right of center".

STEP 12 - Repeat STEPS 8, 9 and 10 above to complete the right hand container.

This is how the buttons look on my control panel for this example.  Unless you make a change to your Loading Message you won't have that button, but all the other buttons should be the same.
