The most powerful and creative feature of Scrippy is an object you can insert called a "CONTAINER".   This tutorial will hopefully help you in understanding the concept of containers and how to use them.  I'm going to try and start as basic as I can for those who might find them a bit confusing, and then expand to the more complicated ways to use them.

OK .. first we need to visualize what a container is and how it works.   When you first open Scrippy and click on File / New ...  you're given a fresh, blank work area.  Think of this work area as the "Master Scrippy".

Now for the FUN part!      On this "Master Scrippy" you can have all kinds of containers, which are all just new, blank work areas ... or if you like, miniature versions of Scrippy.   Each of these containers, or miniature Scrippys, can do exactly the same thing as the Master Scrippy except you can't add Sound, a Ticker, or a Loading Message to them,  you can only add those 3 items to the Master Scrippy.

So, visualize a Master Scrippy with any number of containers, or miniature Scrippys, that can be placed on it.   Now for the big DIFFERENCE between the Master Scrippy and miniature Scrippys... the containers, or miniature Scrippys, need to have their size and location defined by you.   The size and location options appear for each container as you add them to the Master Scrippy.

When you insert a container, it will be invisible because it's an empty, blank Scrippy waiting for you to put something inside it.  Once the container is created, think of it as a miniature Scrippy where you can insert borders, positioned images or scrolls, text, frames, backgrounds, etc.  ....  with the only difference being that you will need to decide where you want to put the containers and how large you want them to be when you create them on the Master Scrippy.  You can also place containers inside each other, which we'll call "nesting"  ... or you can use a blank container just to provide spacing or sizing for your stationery creation.  The possibilities are endless!

HINT:  Sometimes it's difficult to visualize where a container is located or how big it is after you create it.  To make it easy to see the size and location of a container, just insert a 1 pixel frame into that container with a contrasting color.  That will give you a visual look at the container by putting the 1 pixel frame around it when it's empty, or even when you have something inside it.  When you're done sizing and locating the container where you want it, just go back and delete the frame if it's not needed any longer.

So hopefully you now have the basic idea behind the container feature.  Next, click on "Types of Containers"  to find out more about the different kinds of containers you can add to the Master Scrippy.
